The Beginning

In 1959, following Castro's revolution, a 12-year-old boy named Larry Garmany escaped Cuba by fishing boat with his family. They had nothing but hope and determination. Eventually settling in Brooklyn, Larry developed an eye for style that would change everything.
In the early 1970s, with $10,000 — some borrowed, some saved — he opened his first clothing store. His secret weapon wasn't capital; it was vision. He brought the sartorial elegance of old Havana and the craftsmanship of Italy to American streets, at a time when no one else was thinking that way.
The Bet
Turning "Dead Bank"
Into Destination
When Larry planted his flag in Red Bank in 1989, the town was jokingly called "Dead Bank." Empty storefronts lined Broad Street. For the first 13 days, not a single customer walked through the door.
But Larry saw what others couldn't. He saw a town waiting to be reborn, a community hungry for something special. He bet everything on the idea that if you treat people exceptionally, they'll travel to find you.
Today, Red Bank is one of the most vibrant towns in New Jersey — and Garmany is its crown jewel. A 40,000 square-foot sanctuary where luxury is personal, where every visit engages all five senses, and where the world's finest designers share space under one extraordinary roof.
